கண்ணோட்டம்

Looking for a fuel-conscious 125cc commuter for everyday Sri Lankan riding? The Honda SP 125 targets riders wanting fuel injection, five gears and straightforward daily transport. Honda Sri Lanka currently lists the SP 125 with local specifications. However, it does not state a model year. This review therefore separates confirmed Sri Lankan specifications from equipment introduced on India’s 2025 update.

116 kg curb weight: This is relatively light for pushing, parking and low-speed manoeuvres.

Five-speed transmission: Five ratios provide greater flexibility than a four-speed commuter layout during mixed riding.

11-litre fuel tank: At an illustrative 60 km/l, theoretical range approaches 660 km before reserve considerations.

Adjustable rear preload: Five settings allow adjustment when regularly carrying a pillion or additional load.

Authorised local support: Honda maintains motorcycle servicing and genuine-parts facilities across several Sri Lankan locations.

தீமைகள்

ABS is not listed: The local specification provides CBS, but no anti-lock braking system is stated.

Rear drum brake: The listed Sri Lankan setup combines a hydraulic front disc with a rear drum.

80/100 tyres front and rear: Riders wanting a wider rear tyre will not find one in this specification.

2025 equipment is uncertain locally: The Sri Lankan page does not confirm India’s updated 2025 technology package.

Resale evidence is limited: MotorGuide could not verify reliable Sri Lankan resale data for the exact 2025-YOM SP 125.

4
out of 5

Based on published owner feedback and market impressions, the Honda SP 125 is generally described as an easygoing commuter focused on refinement, fuel efficiency and everyday usability. Owners often highlight the light 116 kg curb weight and manageable power delivery as useful for regular city riding. Feedback also points to comfortable cruising around typical commuter speeds, while longer rides can expose limitations in seat comfort and suspension. The SP 125 is best viewed as a practical daily motorcycle rather than a performance-focused 125cc machine
