Overview

The Curvv is Tata’s modern coupe-SUV answer to buyers who want bold styling, tech density and multiple powertrain choices (ICE, EV) without jumping into the premium price brackets. Conceived of Tata's new ATLAS architecture for ICE models and the Gen-2 EV architecture for the Curvv.ev, it enables a sleeker roofline and an extended rear overhang, resulting in a distinctive coupe-like silhouette. Launched to the Indian market in late 2024 / early 2025, the Curvv is pitched as a tech-forward family car with a differentiator in its EV variant, delivering class-leading claimed ranges for its battery sizes and Level-2 ADAS as standard/optional depending on trim. Tata’s strategy with Curvv is to combine distinct styling, connected features and accessible electrification, positioning it as a halo model for Tata’s mainstream SUV family.

Expert’s Opinion

out of 5

The Tata Curvv is a thoughtful product which packages modern design, solid practicality, and efficiency in a compact package. Its triple-powertrain strategy petrol, diesel and EV is smart for markets in transition, offering buyers clear choices depending on infrastructure and usage (However Diesel variants aren’t available in Sri Lanka). Where Curvv shines is its equipment list (screens, ADAS, connectivity) and the EV’s real promise for usable range from relatively small batteries. Where it falls short is in absolute premium finish compared to the segment’s luxury competitors. For buyers who prioritise tech, efficiency, and distinctive styling at a competitive price, Curvv is a particularly compelling pick.

Exterior Design
Tata designed the Curvv to look like a compact coupe-SUV rather than a traditional boxy crossover. The design follows the Fibonacci ratio to create a visually appealing profile that stands out in traffic. The front end is sharp and wide, with sleek Bi function headlamps, sequential LED DRLs, a chrome grille and a sculpted bonnet that visually lowers the profile. Higher-spec variants offer LED fog lamps and cornering lights. The sharply raked glasshouse creates a coupe-like silhouette, while a pronounced rear haunch and integrated spoiler give the rear a dynamic, uplifted look. An expressive lower bumper rounds out the cohesive and modern rear design. Top trims feature connected LED headlamps and taillamps, adding a classy touch. Flush door handles not only enhance the premium feel but also aid in aerodynamic efficiency. The Curvv rides on stylish 18-inch alloy wheels (lower variants get 16 or 17-inch wheels) and offers a generous ground clearance of 208 mm (slightly reduced to 186 mm in the EV version due to the battery pack). Dual-tone body colors add flair, while bold character lines and sculpted flanks help the Curvv appear longer and sportier than its actual dimensions. Panels, lighting signatures and wheel designs are clearly designed to mark Curvv as a fashion statement in traffic.
