Fine tickets to be delivered to drivers who violate traffic rules

The Sri Lanka Police has introduced a new software to identify drivers committing traffic violations in Colombo city using new technology.
This new project is expected to reduce road accidents and take legal action against drivers committing traffic violations.
A large number of road accidents have occurred in Colombo city in the past period due to reckless driving by drivers.
The introduction of a software using new technology to reduce these road accidents was carried out yesterday under the patronage of the Acting Inspector General of Police, Attorney-at-Law, Priyantha Weerasuriya.
With this new software, drivers committing traffic violations in Colombo city will be monitored through the CCTV system of the Colombo Main CCTV Operations Room.
After that, the driver will be informed of the offense to the police in the police division where the driver resides and the relevant fine will be issued to the driver.
