It has been decided to cancel all non-renewable driving licenses. The Commissioner General of Motor Transport, Mr. Nishantha Weerasinghe, said that the decision was taken considering the reported accidents.
Accordingly, he said that a stock of about 1.1 million non-renewable heavy vehicle driving licenses will be canceled before the end of this year.
Those driving license holders should obtain new driving licenses within a grace period.
For this, they should also undergo proper medical examinations, the Commissioner General said.
In addition, the licenses of 1 million non-renewable light vehicle driving license holders are also scheduled to be canceled in the future, the Commissioner General of Motor Transport, Mr. Nishantha Weerasinghe said.
