How to Internationalize Your Driving License When Traveling Abroad

Where Should You Go?
The internationalization of driving licenses in Sri Lanka is handled by the Automobile Association of Ceylon (AA Ceylon), a government-affiliated private institution. Currently, there are three main AA Ceylon offices:

Application Process
After visiting the nearest AA Ceylon office, you will be given an application form. Fill it out carefully and attach the required documents. You also have the option to download the application online in advance, complete it, and take it with you.
Processing Time
If all documents are submitted correctly, your International Driving Permit can be issued within 3 working days. Please note that the IDP is not delivered by mail — you must collect it in person from the same AA Ceylon office where you applied.
