BMW to recall 100,000 in unlikely fashion

In unlikely German engineering fashion the giant has drawn the short end with the recall of over 105,558 vehicles. According to the report from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) a faulty starter motor has caused an overheating issue under the German hood.

The long lineup of vehicles including certain X5, X7, 3 Series, and 7 Series BMWs have been affected by the faulty starter motor. Repeated use of the starter motor would result in an electrical overload causing the German giant to take shade behind closed curtains.

This has started concerns with the community as this poses a certain fire hazard with the starter motor. As it starts overheating nearby components that might be contaminated with oil could be a spark to tell the tale.

To fix the issue, dealers will update the software for free. BMW will notify owners Sept. 23, but those with further questions can contact the automaker at their website to check your vehicle identification number.

However even with the issues as long as the domestic market is concerned, BMW is one of the two hallmarks of German Engineering.
