Cabinet Approves Digital Driving Licence

Cabinet approval has been received to expeditiously introduce a new digital driving license instead of the currently used driving license.
The Cabinet has also decided to continue the currently followed procedure until the digital driving license is issued.
It has been nearly 15 years since the issuance of driving licenses as smart cards began, and the Government Information Department announces that the government has recognized the suitability of issuing a digital driving license, which is currently used in several countries worldwide according to new technology, facilitating data exchange between relevant institutions.
Accordingly, taking into account the proposals submitted by the Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation, this digital driving license is expected to be introduced soon.
