Driving Licence for Disabled Persons in Sri Lanka

Motor Traffic Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe announced that the Department of Motor Traffic has decided to issue general driving licenses to people with disabilities in Sri Lanka starting this month.

The Department of Motor Traffic has made this decision based on a recommendation given by the Committee for the Removal of Obstacles to Issuing Driving Licenses to Persons with Disabilities.

Accordingly, any person with bone, muscle, or neurological disabilities who can drive a vehicle will be issued a general driving license based on the recommendations of the Department of Motor Traffic.
