Iran President's Visit: Several Roads to Close

Police say that with the Iranian President's arrival in Sri Lanka tomorrow morning for the opening ceremony of the Uma Oya project, a special security plan and traffic plan will be implemented.
Police Media Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nihal Thalduwa, Attorney-at-Law, stated that accordingly, several roads in Colombo will be closed at various times tomorrow afternoon.
Accordingly, the Katunayake-Colombo Expressway will be closed tomorrow (24th) from 2 PM to 3 PM, police said.
Police stated that vehicle movement will not be permitted in both directions of the road during this time.
Also, during this one-hour period, the roads from the expressway to Peliyagoda, Orugodawatta Junction, Dematagoda, Borella, D.S. Senanayake Junction, Horton Place, Horton Roundabout, Green Path, Library Roundabout, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Liberty Roundabout, R.A. De Mel Mawatha, St. Michael's Road, Galle Road up to Fort, and the road leading to Hilton Hotel will be closed.
After 3:30 PM, the Lotus Roundabout in Colombo will be closed, and from 6 PM to 6:30 PM, several roads including Galle Road from the Presidential Secretariat will be closed.
Again, after 7:30 PM, the road to the President's House in Fort will be closed, and after 9:30 PM, several roads including Galle Road from Colombo Fort to the NSA Roundabout will be closed.
Police further stated that measures will be taken to close the Katunayake Expressway from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
Also, police say that the road from Mattala to Uma Oya will be closed intermittently for a certain period tomorrow morning from 9:30 AM to 11 AM.
Police further added that the same road will be closed again from 12 PM to 1 PM.
