Is Your Car or Jeep Illegally Modified?

Your vehicle's color and tire size must be as stated in the vehicle's registration book. Also, tires should not protrude beyond the vehicle body.
Furthermore, according to the Gazette notification of August 6, 1988, while it is sufficient to reduce the noise generated by exhaust gases from the vehicle's engine to a considerable extent, a silencer, an external chamber, or another device must be used for this purpose.
The problem here is the absence of recommended maximum dB values for exhaust noise.
The 'ishtta rupa' (figurine/emblem) law, which was a problem for everyone, was amended on June 30, 1989.
So, what this means is that to prevent protrusions extending forward from the vehicle's main headlamps, a metal frame or a figurine/emblem should not be installed or carried on the vehicle.
However, if the Commissioner General of Motor Traffic is satisfied, after consultation with the Inspector General of Police and the Road Development Authority, that such installations will not cause damage to property or persons and are technically essential for the vehicle, approval may be obtained from him.
Furthermore, if a figurine/emblem is more than 5 inches high from the vehicle's bonnet, it should not be installed or carried on the bonnet. It cannot be installed in a way that obstructs the side view and the rear cover.
Finally, it is noted in the order of 16.05.1906 that no marks other than vehicle identification marks and manufacturer's marks should be placed under motor vehicle regulations without the written permission of the Commissioner of Motor Traffic.
So, under such problematic circumstances, what everyone can do is to join your Car Community and raise this awareness. Because by being informed, all of us can collectively correct any shortcomings and request amendments to the law.
