The Sri Lanka Police has announced new measures regarding traffic offenses in Colombo city, effective from Monday, January 22, 2024.
Acting Inspector General of Police Deshabandu Tennakoon stated that the police will use CCTV cameras to monitor traffic offenses in Colombo city. The Acting IGP mentioned this during a special media briefing held today (18).
He further stated that CCTV cameras will be used to prosecute offenders.
The Acting IGP also mentioned that fine tickets will be sent to the registered owner's nearest police station.
