Nio is an automobile company that researches, develops, manufactures, and sells smart electric vehicles, powertrains, and batteries. You might know about that. But do you know about Nio's Europe-focused EV brand? Today, in MotorGuide Weekly News, we are telling you about the launch of this EV brand.

Nio plans to establish two new EV brands. Additionally, they have produced the first right-hand-drive prototype of existing Nio vehicles.

Speaking to the media before the Chinese firm's annual Nio Day presentation, CEO William Li confirmed that Nio has developed its second model, referred to as the "family car" brand, up to the production of its first model's validation prototype.

Internally, this Nio is known under the code name Alps. It has been expanded with the aim of moving into the global volume market, including Europe. With a second brand being introduced from 2024, you will be able to see a different Nio.

Li revealed that the Alps brand, which plans to conduct retail activities through an internet-based, direct sales channel, will launch three models in its initial phase.

Both Nio and Alps brands are referred to under the code name Firefly. As confirmed by Li, it comes with a range of affordable electric cars specifically designed for the European market. Moreover, Nio is designed to compete against rivals like Volkswagen, Renault, and Ford, offering prices lower than both Nio and Alps.

Although right-hand-drive prototypes exist, their primary focus is on understanding and establishing the European market. Additionally, the UAE is among the markets targeted by Nio.

A few months ago, the ET7 was tested driving between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, where no issues were encountered regarding driving. Furthermore, the problem of energy replenishment has been easily solved by setting up battery swap stations. The most important thing is that Nio is in the planning stages of entering the US market. Moreover, the Chinese firm is working on Nio as a high-end model with the aim of further establishing itself as a reputable competitor to companies like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.

This was the story we told you about the launch of Nio's Europe-focused EV brand. So, this launch will happen soon. MotorGuide is ready to tell you everything about the latest developments happening day by day in every vehicle you love.
