Police Introduce New Software for Managing Traffic Violations

A new software has been introduced by the Sri Lanka Police to identify drivers who commit traffic offenses in Colombo city using new technology.
This new project aims to reduce road accidents and take legal action against drivers who commit traffic offenses.
A large number of road accidents occurred in Colombo city during the recent past due to reckless driving by drivers.
The introduction of new technology-based software to reduce these road accidents was carried out yesterday under the patronage of Acting Inspector General of Police, Attorney Priyantha Weerasooriya.
Through this new software, drivers committing traffic offenses within Colombo city will be monitored by the CCTV system of the Colombo Main CCTV Operations Center.
Subsequently, the offense will be reported to the police in the police division where the driver resides, and the relevant fine notices will be issued to the driver.
