Special Public Transport Service for Sinhala and Tamil New Year

Special long-distance transport services have now been started for people going to their hometowns for the New Year.
Many people working in Colombo and suburban areas are preparing to go to their hometowns this week as the Sinhala and Tamil New Year dawns.
Special long-distance transport services are operational this time too for them.
It is reported that the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) is scheduled to add 1,400 buses for the festive season.
The Railway Department has also planned to operate 12 special trains for people going to their hometowns during the festive season.
The Sri Lanka Railway Department also states that two special trains have been added for additional service to Badulla starting from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, 4 special trains have been added for service from Beliatta to Maradana and from Galle to Colombo Fort, and additional trains have been added for those traveling to Colombo from outstation areas on April 14th and 15th.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board also states that steps have been taken to deploy buses according to the need for people arriving in Colombo after April 13th.
