Vehicles Emitting Excessive Smoke to Be Blacklisted
The Vehicle Emissions Trust Fund of the Department of Motor Traffic states that steps will be taken to blacklist vehicles that run while emitting excessive smoke.
Its director mentioned that complaints regarding such vehicles operating on the road can be submitted to the WhatsApp number 070 3500 525.
The director requests drivers not to obtain the smoke certificate solely for the purpose of getting a vehicle license.
He states that although many people are inclined to obtain smoke certificates through fraudulent means, police officers and Department of Motor Traffic officials will conduct relevant inspections in all parts of the island when such vehicles operate on the road.
He further explained that if excessive smoke is observed in such an instance, the owner of the vehicle will receive a maintenance order or a prohibition order against the vehicle.
