Monthly safety checks for passenger transport vehicles

The National Council for Road Safety says steps are underway to mandate monthly quality inspections for all passenger transport vehicles.

According to the Council’s Chairman, the regulation is slated to take effect from 1 January 2026, following the necessary legal procedures.

The move aims to improve commuter safety and vehicle reliability across the public transport sector. Further implementation details and enforcement guidelines are expected to be announced in the coming months.
