Sri Lanka Police Announce Special Traffic Plan

The police state that a special traffic plan will be implemented tomorrow (04) morning, centered around the Independence Square and Independence Avenue areas.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Indika Hapugoda, who is in charge of road safety, stated that all invitees are requested to arrive at the designated location and take their seats before 7 AM.
Meanwhile, members of the public attending the Independence Day celebration should arrive via Bauddhaloka Mawatha and will then be screened near the Rupavahini premises before being directed to their seats.
Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Torrington Junction, entry to Premakeerthi de Alwis Mawatha, entry towards State Administration from RSP Junction, entry towards Vidya Mawatha from Wijerama Vidya Mawatha, entry towards Maitland Crescent from Independence Roundabout on Independence Avenue, entry towards Independence Avenue from Padanam Mawatha Junction on Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha, entry towards Independence Square from Independence Roundabout, entry towards Horton Roundabout from Library Roundabout, and entry to Independence Avenue from Independence Padanam Junction will be closed, and traffic will be restricted.
Mr. Indika Hapugoda also stated that residents would be allowed entry based on their identity and informed the public about the following alternative routes for vehicles entering Colombo.
Vehicles coming from Nanda Motors can turn right at Independence Roundabout, proceed along Philip Gunawardena Mawatha, enter Bauddhaloka Mawatha from Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha, and travel towards Thummulla and Borella Kanatta.
Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Bauddhaloka Mawatha to Horton Roundabout can travel along Wijerama Mawatha towards Horton, and vehicles going towards Thummulla from Wijerama Junction (Vidya Wijerama Junction) can come from Vidya Wijerama Junction towards Bullers Wijerama and travel towards Borella Kanatta and Thummulla.
