Things to Consider When Buying a Bike
If you are buying a used bike, besides the price, you must definitely check these things:
- Engine Condition: Check for any unusual noises and if it emits smoke.
- Documents: Check if the Revenue License, Insurance, and Ownership Book are correct.
- Mileage: How many kilometers the bike has run affects the engine's lifespan.
- Tires and Battery: If these need to be replaced new, it could cost you an additional Rs. 30,000 - 50,000. So be mindful of that.
Although vehicle imports are restricted in Sri Lanka, recently, several New Models have entered the market through concessionary schemes and various methods. Especially now, the trend in Sri Lanka is towards Electric (EV) and bikes with fuel-efficient Fuel-Injection (FI) technology. Let's look at some of the newest models seen in the market these days.
