When we buy a vehicle, the first thing we look at is its exterior appearance. Then, the price. Many people forget about safety. But safety is also something we must definitely consider. Because when you drive your own vehicle, safety is extremely important. So, if you drive a vehicle, you must definitely know about safety packages. Are you aware of the safety packages in your vehicle? That's why today, MotorGuide will tell you about the safety packages available in a vehicle.

Types of safety packages in a vehicle

There are two types of safety packages in a vehicle.

  1. Active safety package
  2. Passive safety package

Passive safety

Passive safety refers to the measures we can take after an accident occurs or during the time an accident is happening while we are traveling in a vehicle. Passive safety can minimize or prevent the risk of injury in an emergency. The passive safety features in a vehicle are seat belts and airbags.

Active safety

Active safety refers to the precautionary measures we can take before an accident occurs. This allows us to prevent accidents from happening. There are several things related to active safety in a vehicle. Accordingly,

  • Windscreen
  • Brake
  • Things like rear view camera are relevant to active safety.

Safety Sense in a vehicle

A vehicle has 3 safety sense systems, which are:

  • Frontal collision prevention
  • Lane departure warning
  • Auto head light

Frontal Collision Prevention

This involves a laser and a camera on the vehicle's windscreen. These systems vary by vehicle brand. This system helps to stop the vehicle if you are unable to do so in an emergency.

Lane Departure Warning

If you are driving on the road and the vehicle deviates slightly without a signal or your attention, the steering wheel guides the vehicle back to the correct lane. This system usually only operates when the vehicle is traveling at a speed of approximately 40km per hour.

Auto Head Light

When we drive a vehicle at night, headlights help us observe the road clearly. However, while this is convenient for us, these headlights can be very uncomfortable for people in oncoming vehicles. So, the auto head light system controls the headlights at night in a way that does not cause discomfort to oncoming vehicles. Accordingly, when a vehicle approaches from the front, the headlight brightness is reduced, and when there are no vehicles, the headlight returns to its original state.

These are the safety packages available in a vehicle. Knowing about these safety packages can help you minimize accidents. Also, if you are buying a new vehicle, pay attention to the safety packages available in that vehicle.
