Well, the Avurudu month has arrived. Even though Avurudu is over, we are not done with our trips yet. Because we all look forward to going on a long trip as soon as we get a holiday to clear our minds. However, if the vehicle breaks down during the trip, you will face a lot of trouble. So, to prevent that, there are a few things you absolutely must do before taking your vehicle out of the house. So, today MotorGuide is going to tell you how to go on that mind-clearing trip with peace of mind.

Clean the vehicle

First and foremost, we need to focus on cleanliness. Because you can't go on a trip in a dirty vehicle. So, the first thing you need to do is thoroughly clean the exterior and interior of the vehicle. After that, remember to keep a small box or a few dustbin bags in the vehicle to collect any trash that accumulates during the trip. Because littering on the roadside is not a good practice.

Pack correctly

Going on a long trip doesn't mean you're going today and coming back tomorrow. So, we will need a lot of items. We can store some of these items inside the vehicle and in the boot space. However, if there isn't enough space, the remaining items will have to be packed on the hood rack.

However, if you are carrying luggage on the vehicle's hood rack, cover the bags with a plastic sheet. And if there is no hood rack, place a tent cloth or plastic sheet on the vehicle's hood and cover the bags with it. Because if you don't do that, the hood's paint could get damaged.

Check the Engine

After that, something you absolutely must pay attention to is the engine. Because the engine is the heart of the vehicle. So, for your trip to be joyful, the engine must be in good condition. Therefore, don't forget to give the engine a full checkup for any issues before you go.

Check the Tires

Additionally, check the tire air pressure, tire condition, and if they are at the approved size. Because your entire life depends on these two tires. So, pay good attention to the tires. Also, don't forget to carry a spare tire in good condition.

Check the Battery

When starting a trip, we can't exactly say what kinds of situations we might face. So, one special thing we need to pay attention to is whether our vehicle's battery is ready to face any situation. Therefore, check the battery water. Usually, a battery is not something that requires frequent maintenance, which is why we often forget to check it. Just in case, carry a jumper cable so you can start the vehicle in an emergency.

Check Electronic Items

Usually, we don't remember things like wipers, lights, or the horn until a problem arises. However, these small things can cause big problems that we don't even anticipate. Therefore, don't forget to check small things like wipers, lights, and the horn.

Emergency Kit

An essential item for a vehicle is an emergency kit. Although this kit is crucial for a vehicle, many people don't know what items absolutely must be inside it.

A universal screwdriver, a flashlight/torch, and spare batteries must definitely be in this emergency kit. Additionally, it is essential to have the tools needed to change a tire. Towing cables are also very useful in an emergency.

Test Ride

If you're planning your trip in a vehicle you frequently travel with, this test ride isn't that important. However, if you are planning a trip in a vehicle you don't use often, definitely don't forget to go for a significant test ride at least a day beforehand. Because through it, you can easily resolve any problems with the vehicle if they exist.

So these are the things you absolutely must check in your vehicle before going on a trip to enjoy with family, friends, and loved ones during this Avurudu season. Even if a trip is planned suddenly, don't forget to check the things MotorGuide has mentioned before taking the vehicle out of the house.
